Urine Incontinence: Widely Experienced but Less Spoken – Treat it with Ayurveda

In last one or two years I would say there is a sudden rise in the patients with urine incontinence. Patients avoid to talk about it like they can talk about any other disease, the reason is obvious females are suffering more and patient thinks it very disgusting. In female patients with chronic ailments we may find Urine Incontinence as an associated symptom. Now a day we are getting patients of only Urine Incontinence and in the age group of as low as 30 years. Earlier the age was above 55 years, patients suffering from lots of diseases like joint pain, bladder stone, liver malfunction, females with history of repetitive abortions or some uterine disorder etc.

Now you can see Urine Incontinence as an associated symptom as well as a separate disease. When we track down the reasons, the most common reasons are constipation, drinking lots of water, urinary track infection due to usage of public toilets, which is unavoidable, kidney stone etc. In lifestyle long hours continuous sitting, holding urine for a longer period when in an important meeting, sometimes wearing tight clothes, which are giving pressure on umbilical region can be blamed.

In 90% of the cases chronic constipation is the main cause. If you see the anatomy of female abdominal cavity, rectum, uterus and bladder are enclosed in that cavity, if the patient is heavily constipated direct pressure goes on the bladder and hence our main treatment in Urine Incontinence is to clear patient’s rectum and also remove other causes if they are present. Now no need to suffer this silently, medicines and treatments are available for this less spoken disease.
